I believe that the first person who is promoting the capacity to become an entrepreneur of our children, is myself as a father. I think that is Randy Pausch trying to say in his video. Most of the time can sound silly, but our children are learning from us. If I allow my son to discover the world, and I potential his ideas, more than trying to restrict what he is doing, probably in the future will be difficult for him to become an entrepreneur. Today I am living this time when my 3 years old son is painting the walls and the floor (for some reason he is just painting the wall and floor of his bedroom), but instead of telling him that this thing is bad, or he is doing something wrong, we're trying to guide his emotions and what he is doing.
Today, when I reflect about it, I felt that in some way I needed that guide. I know that I am not too old to learn to become an entrepreneur, but I think that there are some things that restrict me to think like an entrepreneur. My parents they tried to do the best they could, and probably the thing they did nobody say that they were wrong, however today I am experimenting those restrictions.
And for sure that dreaming is important. A man or woman without a dream is someone without a horizon. Our dream keeps us alive.
I always dreamed with the possibility to build my own house. Today and after many years I am closer to achieve this dream. I saved money during a long time, and many times I thought to use that money to other “important thing”, however, something inside me always told me don’t give up, because every month I was closer and closer to see one of my dreams come true.
