In the parable of the ten virgins I found a principle that I considerer to myself as my own opinion. The ten virgins represent the church, in specific the members. All the virgins are in age to be in a weeding, is the same in the church, our time is counting from our baptism, because all thing before that where forgiven. So, this virgins they had all the time to prepared for the weeding, is the same with us, we have all the time, day after day to prepare us for the day when the Lord come back or when He called us and we die. Until this day we have to put oil in our lamp. So we have a entire life to do it. Now, it's impossible to think that we are going to full the lamp in one day, this is not how this lamp work. Our lamp is not like our car, that in five minutes we can full with gas and the car will road. This spiritual oil take time to get a drop, and day after day we our fulling our lamp with drop after drop.
What thing will help to get am oil drop? As member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint, the Lord expects that we do something like, keep the commandment, pay our tithing, fast and give a offering, attend to the church every week and participate in the sacrament, serve other accepting calling, receiving all the ordinances in the temple and to me the most important, live according all those thing. This is daily work, is impossible to do all this thing in one day, that the reason because Jesus called them wise and foolish. If we are wise and we really are listening, we will act as the wise virgins and we will have enough oil in our lamp. But contrary, we can act as the foolish virgins, and not worry about if there is enough oil in the lamp to wait until the bridegroom come.
Now, everyone know if we are acting as wise or foolish virgin. The thing that must know and be very clear is when the day come nobody could help us giving us oil because our lamp it was empty.
